This metal clad coffee table was inspired by Pottery Barn piece. So, let’s get started! Take a piece of galvanized sheet metal. Bend the sides of the sheet down, notch out the corners with an angle grinder, and get nice sharp corners. To attach the metal to the wood, take counter top contact cement. Pour on a generous amount on to the underside of the metal, then use a large chip brush to smear it around evenly, making sure to get the sides too. Then slide the wood into the metal (make sure to dry-fit the wood before applying the contact cement), and weigh it down while it dries. Read the rest of the tutorial here.
