Everything connected with nature is fashionable and just cool. We have already told you about some coasters made of wood, and here’s one more idea. You’ll need straight branches that are no smaller than 3.5” in diameter, a hand saw, sandpaper, clear varnish. Using the saw cut sections of branches not less than ½” thick. Sand each section well with heavy grit sandpaper, and then use a finer grit to smooth out the surface. Do not sand the bark on the edges. Coat front, back, and sides with clear varnish and let dry. You can leave the wood without varnish as untreated wood can also look beautiful as it absorbs the drips and condensation from the glasses that sit on it.
