No children’s birthday party is complete without a birthday number, and if you are four and you adore dinosaurs, then you really need a dinosaur number! This figure will be a perfect decoration for a dinosaur or Jurassic Park themed children’s birthday party. It will surely excite children and will look good in the photos. One of rather simple options is to make a festive number for a dino party is to make it out of scraps of plywood and paint it. This plywood figure will turn out strong and durable, in case you want to use it in the future as a decoration for a kid’s room.
Take a plywood scrap not shorter than 15 cm, choose the look of your number – print out some options and put them on plywood to choose.
When you’ve chosen, it’s time to measure the number with a ruler. You may draw the same on the plywood or go for a larger scale if you want, then cut it out.
Curve the angles a little bit and make some slots for a tail and combs.
Seal the chipped edges and other chipped elements of plywood.
While the sealant is getting dry, you may cut out the base for your number. Cut off a proper piece of plywood, make it smooth and sleek.
Attach the number to the base: put the number on it and mark where the holes will be drilled. Drill the holes and using screws attach the number to the base. Use glue additionally to secure the number in its place.
After the glue dries, cover the number with usual white paint. When it dries, paint the whole piece with bright green paint – 1-2 coats.
Make a tail of rubber treated paper: trace a ready tail of usual paper on rubber treated paper in green color and then cut it out. Make combs of yellow rubber treated paper and cut out some circles, too. Cut out a large eye and teeth of white rubber treated paper.
Add a black and a smaller white circle inside the eye to make it more realistic.
