Feeling your inner artist? Then it’s time to create something for your home décor to make it more personalized and special. There are lots of ideas to realize – signs, gallery walls, various types or art and renovations but today I’d like to tell you of something very creative – these are canvas wall artworks.
If you feel like painting, go buy some acrylic paints and choose some design or image you like – an abstract one or some scape or something else. Not sure about the design? Just draw it on the canvas and then if you like it – do the same with paints. It can also be some quote or just a couple of words that mean a lot to you. Let the piece dry, frame and hang it.
Another idea to create a photo canvas art – just attach your pics to the canvas or print them straight onto it using special means. Frame and attach to the walls – so easy!
Missing nature and fresh air? Make trendy botanical canvas art pieces! You’ll need blank canvas, various leaves, adhesive or spray adhesive, finishing matte spray, various hardback books. Before starting the project, lay out the leaves to experiment with placement. Place books with a plastic or leather coating on top of the fern to weight it down; the ferns will drop their pollen in 24-36 hours, so once you place the books on them, leave them alone and let them do their thing. When you are satisfied, just attach them to the canvas using adhesives. When dry, frame them and hang on the walls.
Canvas signs are a cool way to cheer the space. You can cover the whole canvas with chalkboard paints and write something or make your own quotes and words – this is no more difficult than making a wooden sign but looks even better.
Love stitching? Make an eye-catchy embroider canvas wall art! Choose yarn of the colors you love and draw lines for stitches with a pencil. Then start stitching with yarn following the lines. When you get to the next marked line, you will create that cool draped effect. Pull the needle up through the canvas on the line. Then insert the needle back down through the canvas on the next line. Pull on the thread to loosen it until you get the drape that you like. Then just keep stitching across until you get to the next line. Use a good eraser to very carefully remove your pencil lines from the canvas. Second, straighten out those draped threads. Voila, you may hang it!
