A fireplace is always a centerpiece in any room – everything seems so cozy with it! If you are going to make one and are looking for some ideas, I’d recommend to take a look at built-in fireplaces. Why built-ins?
What Are Built-In Fireplace Advantages?
Traditionally designed built-in fireplaces tend to fit in well with all types of interior designs. To achieve a timeless, cozy feel you don’t have to opt for a real wood fireplace. Today’s gas heaters are well designed and look very much like real wood burning fireplaces.
Because built-in heaters are placed within a wall, children and pets can’t run around them. You can also buy a fireguard or child safety gate to enclose the fire.

What Are Built-In Fireplace Disadvantages?
Built-in fireplaces can be more costly to have them properly fitted into the wall unless and existing brick chimney exists. Many gas models can also be installed into timber stud work which makes for an easy installation but still more costly than installing a freestanding one.

Should I Make A Fireplace Surround?
If it’s a real fireplace that you are going to use, you should make sure that it’s safe: go for concrete, stone, tiles and other materials that won’t burn and won’t get too hot. If you aren’t using the fireplace or it’s an ethanol piece, you perhaps won’t need a proper surround.

Where To Build In A Fireplace?
A fireplace is usually built into a living room wall, somewhere in the sitting zone. You may go for a double-sided one to illuminate and warm up two spaces at once. You may build your fireplace into any space, from a bathroom to a bedroom and even accent the surround if you want. Create a cozy space around your built-in fireplace and enjoy warm and cozy evening with those who you love!
