Antique decor and styling is a bold trend today, we see antique molding, ceiling medallions, wainscoting, furniture and accessories everywhere, they are integrated into contemporary interiors for a bold touch. Today’s article is about one of these cool pieces that you may own (and that’s luck!) – an antique fireplace.
An antique fireplace is a gorgeous decor feature even if it’s a non-working one, it will instantly elevate the style of any space, and even if you go for modern decor around, it will be a fab addition and will add chic to your room. Let’s find out how to style such a fireplace, whether it’s a working or non-working one.
Non-Working Fireplaces
If you have an antique fireplace that you can’t use for some reason, you can always repurpose it. Place your vintage books and magazines inside – such a creative storage space will give your interior a twist plus you won’t need any separate storage unit for these items. You can turn the piece into a cool display that fits your interior, for example, place some vintage suitcases, a globe or some accessories. One more idea is filling your fireplace with candles, just put lots of candles inside or use a candelabra and maybe one on the mantel, too. Light all the candles and you’ll get a very cozy ambience. Another way to style your fireplace is to display some firewood and even pinecones for a wild feel, add some LED lights and this way you’ll imitate a working fireplace and will add coziness.
