A shower window is a disputable thing: on one hand, it provides a lot of natural light that is so precious for bathrooms, on the other hand, it doesn’t keep privacy in the space where it’s badly needed. If you are going to have a shower window or are hesitating about that, or you already have one and don’t know what to do with it, here are some ideas.
Clerestory And High Located Windows
Your choice can be a clerestory window – this is a long and narrow window placed right under the ceiling or roof. Such a window will provide enough light but will keep your privacy completely. Another idea here is having a high located window, which can be a usual one but very high placed.

Covered Windows
Here I will mention both the type of glass that can cover the window and reals covers. Using rainfall and frosted glass on the shower window is a good idea as it will keep your privacy completely or almost completely and will provide enough light. As for covers, you can make a lovely cover of frosted glass and use it as a shutter on a usual window, that’s perhaps the easiest solution that is also durable and functional. A simple shower curtain may be also hung inside the shower to cover the window.

Windows With A View
If you happen to live in a place with no neighbors, forget covering the shower window, just enjoy lots of light and the views and be happy having them all while taking a shower. In such a case your window can be floor to ceiling for a panoramic view or a usual one, with only the upper part of your body visible. Again, if you hesitate, you can always do frosting on the part of your window to feel safe. Your bathroom will become a real spa with a view!
