What a great source of DIY project ideas the Instructables website is. I’ve recently found a very cool project showing how to upgrade any IKEA Lack table. The idea is to make its top surface transparent and to put LED Christmas lights inside of it. That makes this very simple and cheap table looks extremely cool.
As you probably know, Lack tops have nothing but paper inside of them. If you don’t know that you might be interested in this National Geographic video that shows the manufacturing process. The bad thing about such cheap product is that the top surface wears out quickly. I can tell you that for sure from my own experience. There are several ways to solve this problem. For example, you can put a sheet of glass over it, add a light source beneath it and make it fit perfectly even in modern glamourous interiors.
