Dandelions are one of the sweetest flowers, they don’t feature any fake luxury, but how beautifully they fill the spring streets with warmth, growing here and there! They usually don’t stay in vases for long and wilt instantly, while DIY crepe paper dandelions solve this problem. These paper flowers look almost like real ones, and from far away they are generally very difficult to distinguish. Such a bouquet of spring flowers is beautiful in itself; in any simplest vase, it can become a bright decoration of the interior. And if you turn on your imagination and, for example, attach a vase with dandelions of crepe paper to a beautiful board, you get a very cool and unusual wall decor for the kitchen made with your own hands.
The supplies are a ruler, scissors, florist wire, masking tape in green, crepe paper in several shades of green and yellow.
Cut out four crepe paper strips and rectangles following the measurements you seen in the video.
Fold a yellow strip and make a cut at 2/3 of the length, then make more cuts to create real fringe; do the same to the second yellow strip.
Make larger cuts on a forest green crepe paper piece and smaller ones on the light green piece.
Now make a flower on florist wire – wrap one end with yellow crepe paper using a hot glue gun – start with a lighter strip, then a darker yellow one, then a lighter green strip and a darker one. you may also add green masking tape on top to secure the bloom even better.
-
Make the flower a bit plainer removing the excessive trim with scissors.
Take a usual IKEA vase, hot glue twine to it for decor and add a whole bouquet of your blooms to the vase.
-
If you have an old chopping board, hot glue your vase to it and hang it on the wall.
