Family photos are always very touching, and children’s hands made of wire and holding these photos are just double kill! This concrete DIY photo holder is a great way to keep touching memories and at the same time accent the interior with bright decor. A child, of course, cannot cope with this concrete craft, but with a little help from the parents, an unusual interior element or a nice gift for a mother or grandmother will be made easily.
Trace the kids’ hands on paper, attach this sheet to a plywood sheet using a glue stick.
Hammer some nails framing the hands all over, cover them with copper wire.
Cut off the excessive wire and form stands on the ends.
Remove the wire hands form the nails and hot glue them to each other.
Prepare a mix: 1.5 parts of water, 4 parts of white cement, 1 part of sand, stir it all very well and add a bit more water if needed.
Put the mix in a desired bowl or another piece that will give shape to it and place your wire hands on top securely – the base should be inside the mix. Wait for 24 hrs to let the concrete mix get its stable shape.
. Remove the resulting piece from the jar and remove the glue drops from the hands. Cover the base with acrylic primer, and after it dries, paint the whole piece in a desired color.
Create any decor or use any stencils you like.
Place any pics you want in between the wire fingers and voila, looks so cool!.
