The outdoor season is in full swing and we are trying to spend as much time as possible here reading, eating, talking, partying and so on. but what you may forget is that there’s no better sleeping than outdoor, especially if it’s your own backyard – fresh air and comfort guaranteed! If you are puzzling over where to organize such a space, we are here to help you!
Separate House
If you have a possibility, place a separate house for your outdoor bedroom, it has a lot of advantages. First of all, you will be protected from the excessive sunlight and rain if needed – the latter will make a beautiful sound on the roof of your house. Second, you will be protected from insects and different animals when needed – just close the windows. It can be a former greenhouse turned into a bedroom, a wooden shed that you placed for sleeping, a small garden house or even a real pre-fab piece by some designer. Place it to maximize the views.

Design Ideas
Making your outdoor bedroom look cool and stylish is a lot of fun. Here are some ideas to help you choose a theme for your outdoor retreat.
Tropical Theme
Just imagine that you’re on a tropical island! You can create this feeling by using bright colors, palm leaves and rattan furniture. Pillows, blankets, and decorations in bright colors works like a charm. Large palm leaves are perfect to put around your rattan bed.
Bohemian Theme
The bohemian theme is always cozy and fun. It’s perfect if you love lots of decorations. Start by making your bed super comfy with lots of cushions and throw pillows. Add lots of colorful pillows, blankets, and rugs. Mix different patterns and textures. Finally, add interesting items like lanterns, string lights, and unique art pieces.
Rustic Theme
If you love nature and want your outdoor bedroom to feel like a cabin in the woods, go for the rustic theme. To do that, use wood, stone, and other natural materials for your furniture and decorations. Choose colors like brown, green, and tan to match the natural setting. Add cozy blankets and soft pillows to make your space warm and inviting.
Minimalist Theme
If you like things simple and neat, the minimalist theme is for you. Choose furniture with straight lines and no extra decorations. Use colors like white, gray, and beige. Don’t use too many decorations. Keep things tidy with just a few key pieces.
Other Ideas
If you don’t have many insects, and rain isn’t expected, a whole house won’t be necessary. Make some canopy or tent over the bed to protect yourself from excessive light and have a cool day nap! Remember that in case you have insects, some citronella candles may help you. You can also opt for some gorgeous furniture piece by some designer – there are unique beds with canopy and other stuff built-in. Just make sure your canopy or tent is secure and your bed is on stable ground. Don’t forget to use covers to keep your outdoor furniture safe from the weather!
