Besides Peach Fuzz, which is officially the color of 2024, there are some more colors that are in trend and will be in trend for longer time. One of such colors is unexpectedly chartreuse, a bold and catchy shade that hasn’t been on for a long time.
What Is Chartreuse Color?
Chartreuse is a range of colors lying between yellow and green, originating from the French liqueur ‘Chartreuse,’ developed by Carthusian monks in the 1740s. Chartreuse Yellow or Chartreuse Green are the two variants typically recognized. Chartreuse Yellow, resembling the color of the original liqueur, is a vividly intense yellow-green hue, while Chartreuse Green is a darker, more forested green, named after the color of the liqueur’s green variant.
This specific color range, being so vibrant and robust, often imparts a sense of energy, zeal, growth, and renewal, symbolizing the features of Spring and nature. Precise and prudent use of chartreuse can yield impactful, vibrant, and eye-catching designs due to its visual potency.

What Colors To Use With Chartreuse?
Chartreuse isn’t a very compatible color, and that’s for sure, so you should implement it in a very careful way. Black, navy, beige, coral, grey, light blue, white will be the best colors to use with chartreuse, and gold goes well with it, too.
With all that color compatibility, chartreuse will be a nice idea for a bold maximalist or eclectic interior, or a single color accent in some more modern space but as for Scandi and minimalist spaces it won’t do.
Chartreuse walls are a popular idea, though if you aren’t sure, go for just one accent wall then. Chartreuse can be rocked using furniture – refined loveseats, chairs, coffee tables, consoles and desks, and if you don’t have such a piece but want it, just take some paint and go for it. Chartreuse is great to apply with accessories and textiles: curtains, pillows, rugs, artworks and other stuff. Look how to do that with style in our gallery!
